NDP is Gaining Speed

photoLast year, National Day of Prayer Racing reminded millions of NASCAR fans to kneel before the almighty God in prayer for America. The #55 Toyota, driven by Michael McDowell, featured the National Day of Prayer (NDP) on its hood at NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Richmond International Raceway in 2010.

“This was a fun way to promote the National Day of Prayer – we were blessed to have the support of a great racing team and an exciting driver,” said John Bornschein, Executive Director for the NDP Task Force. “This event enabled us to communicate with a vast audience and remind people that there is a day set aside for our nation to join together and pray.”

The NDP Task Force is grateful to PRISM MOTORSPORTS for this exciting opportunity to communicate the importance of repentance and prayer in such a unique and creative way.

Prism Motorsports, formerly named MSRP Motorsports, is a NASCAR team that competed in the Sprint Cup and the Nationwide Series. It is owned by former NASCAR driver Phil Parsons and Randy Humphrey, along with their wives Stacey and Marcia (hence the original name MSRP: Marcia, Stacey, Randy, Phil).  In 2009, MSRP continued with two Nationwide Series teams while it also added a Sprint Cup team under the Prism name that qualified for 30 races. After the season, the entire team became known as Prism.

For 2011, the team has two Sprint Cup teams, #66 and #55, led by drivers Dave Blaney and Michael McDowell, driving Toyota Camrys provided under a technical alliance with Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR). Four drivers circulated among the two Nationwide Series cars (90 & 91) in 2010: Terry Cook, Johnny Chapman, Justin Hobgood, and Blaney.
