Ministry Outreach
Prayer is a long-standing and significant tradition in American history. Just as our founding fathers sought the Lord’s guidance, so we unite on the National Day of Prayer to intercede for our nation’s leaders. Due to the tireless efforts of the NDP Task Force and our grassroots volunteer network, the National Day of Prayer is the largest annual designated prayer gathering in the world.
In addition to uniting Americans in prayer on the first Thursday of every May, the Task Force works throughout the year to mobilize daily prayer for our nation and to preserve our Christian heritage. Through training events, resources, and partnerships, we strive to fan the flame of the national prayer movement to continue in our great nation.
As God’s name continues to be stripped from our nation, the Task Force is committed to standing strong for America’s freedoms of religious expression. This includes our Constitutional rights to gather, worship, and pray in the public square. For generations, prayer has remained an integral part of America’s institutional heritage, and we must be intentional in preserving this historical foundation of faith by calling our nation to prayer.
Every year, thousands of events are held in all 50 states and territories. A vast array of ministry projects will reach an audience of nearly 90 million people through the secular media and an additional 25 million through Christian media outlets.
