A Call for Unity and Prayer: Christians of All Denominations, Come Together on Inauguration Day, January 20th, 2025 6pm-8pm at State Capitals and City Halls
As the United States enters a new era of leadership with the Inauguration of a new president on January 20th, 2025, we, the body of Christ, find ourselves at a crucial crossroads. Our nation is in need of spiritual renewal, and now, more than ever, Christians must come together in unified prayer and worship to seek the guidance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We live in an age where the name of Jesus is being increasingly marginalized, and the voice of Christianity is too often drowned out by secularism, division, and confusion. The cultural narrative is shifting, and in many places, the message of God’s love and truth is being censored or even vilified. Yet, despite these challenges, we are called to rise up with one voice in humility, prayer, and worship, declaring the eternal truth of Jesus Christ in a time when it is so desperately needed.
The Need for Unity
Christianity in the United States is deeply divided. We have allowed denominational lines, theological differences, and cultural preferences to separate us. In doing so, we have weakened our collective voice. The result is a fragmented Church that, though large in number, has become less effective in shaping the moral and spiritual direction of our nation. Our lack of unity has made it easier for secular forces to silence the message of Jesus and lead our culture away from the truths of Scripture.
However, Jesus Himself prayed for unity among His followers. In John 17:21, He says, “That they may all be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” The unity that Christ prayed for is not merely an ideal; it is an imperative for the advancement of His Kingdom. A divided Church is a weak Church, but a unified Church is a powerful force that can change hearts, communities, and nations.
It is time for Christians to put aside denominational differences and unite around the core truth that Jesus is Lord. In this pivotal moment, we are called to stand together, side by side, not as Baptists, Catholics, Methodists, or Presbyterians, but as one body in Christ, committed to advancing the Kingdom of God.
A National Day of Prayer and Worship
On Inauguration Day, Monday, January 20th, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Christians of all denominations are invited to gather in their local city halls and state capitals to pray and worship together. This will be a time to lift up our nation, our leaders, and ourselves before God, asking for His mercy and intervention. It is a moment for the Church to come together and declare that, though the world may change, the Word of God remains the same.
The theme of this gathering will be simple yet profound: "One Voice for Jesus." Whether in large cities or small towns, whether in the heart of Washington, D.C. or in state capitals across the country, Christians are called to stand in solidarity, offering prayers for wisdom, justice, and peace. We are to pray for our elected leaders, that they may govern with integrity and humility. We are to pray for the healing of our nation, that division, hatred, and violence may be replaced by unity, love, and understanding. Most importantly, we are to pray that the message of the Gospel—salvation through Jesus Christ—would be boldly proclaimed and received by all.
A Declaration of Faith
This event is not only a call for prayer but also a declaration of our faith in the face of cultural opposition. We must proclaim with boldness and humility that Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and that no matter how much the world seeks to silence His name, we will not be moved. We will continue to lift up the name of Jesus, knowing that He is the hope of the world.
In a time when morality is relative, and truth is in short supply, Christians must step forward to be a clear and unashamed witness to the gospel. We will not back down. We will not be intimidated. We will not allow the name of Jesus to be erased from the public square.
Let this event be a visible sign that we, the Church, stand united in our commitment to Christ and His Kingdom. Let it be a testimony to the world that, despite our differences, we are bound together by the unbreakable bond of the Holy Spirit.
The Power of Prayer
When we gather in prayer, we are not just asking for our desires or for temporary solutions to our problems. We are submitting ourselves to the will of God, seeking His guidance, His wisdom, and His presence. Prayer is an act of surrender, recognizing that we are not in control, but that God is sovereign over all things.
The Bible assures us that prayer is powerful. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God promises, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Our land desperately needs healing. It needs the forgiveness and restoration that only God can bring.
A Call to Action
We call on all Christians, regardless of denomination or background, to participate in this sacred moment. We encourage church leaders, pastors, and laypeople to mobilize their congregations to join this national movement of prayer and worship. Let us demonstrate to the world that, no matter the challenges we face, we are united in Christ, and our faith in Him will not be silenced.
In the words of the Apostle Paul, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). As Christians, our battle is not against political ideologies, but against the spiritual forces that seek to divide and destroy. In this battle, prayer is our weapon, and unity is our strength.
Conclusion
On January 20th, 2025, let us stand together in one voice, lifting high the name of Jesus and seeking His will for our nation. Let us set aside differences, let go of grudges, and embrace the call to unity that Jesus so strongly prayed for. As we gather in city halls and state capitals across the land, let us be a witness to the world that the body of Christ is alive, united, and ready to make an impact in our communities and beyond.
May the prayers of God's people on that day be a sweet fragrance before Him, and may they serve as a powerful reminder to all that our hope, our strength, and our future are found in Jesus Christ alone.
Let us unite in faith, in prayer, and in worship—for one voice, for one Lord, for one Kingdom.
