I coordinate our local pastors group. This is the fourth year that we have held this event, but the first time I have registered. We meet on the shared grounds of the Antrim County Building/Courthouse/Sheriffs' Department in Bellaire, Michigan. Everyone is invited to attend, with all pastors in the county receiving special invitations from our organization.
We have a small stage and mic set up. The local veterans group incorporates a display that mixes American and Christian flags to the grounds for the event.
We invite a local representative from each mountain of cultural influence to briefly speak about the importance of praying for that mountain. That is followed by a local pastor offering a prayer for that mountain. This happens for all seven mountains.
We mix in the national anthem, pledge of allegiance, and a few other small speaking parts to complete the event in about an hour. Refreshments are offered to everyone in attendance immediately following at a church across the street.
