Everyone is warmly invited to join Pillar College's 12th Annual National Day of Prayer. The event is virtual and will begin at 8:45am and conclude at 10:15am. Participants from various organizations include: American Christian School, Association of Christian Schools International, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Chosen People Ministries, Colson Center, Customized Benefit Solutions, International Students, Inc., New Canaan Society, NJ Family Policy Center, Pan African University, Pillar College, Positive Community Magazine, and Wellsprings Counseling/Coaching. Dr. William Brown Senior Fellow at the Colson Center and former president of Cedarville University and Bryan College is the devotional speaker.
Antioch Baptist Church of Springfield, NJ is partnering with local churches to host this community's National Day of Prayer event virtually from 7pm to 8pm on Zoom on May 2nd. In-climate weather / rain location: Thursday 05/02/2024. Praying for a good weather week and no rain or other type of in climate weather! If it weather does not permit the outdoor park service, there will be an updated posting here with the live video conference link and phone number. Either Zoom or Free Conference Call will be used for the video service. The possibility of an indoor venue as a backup location is being prayerfully considered, but at this time the backup rain plan is as mentioned, a live prayer gathering video conference that you can watch and/or call in to.
Shofars: Shofars are welcome during the announced invitation for a group shofar soundings. There will be several opportunities.
Other: Other types of musical instruments, biblical dance and biblical flags will be considered but are needing to be discussed well ahead of time with the event planning staff and either approved or not approved based on the schedule of events and time frame that is allotted. Please send these inquiries well ahead of time, by sending an email with your information and what you are asking to be pre-approved or incorporated in the prayer service schedule and the NDP staff members will review it pray about it and be sure to get back to you. WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU SUGGESTIONS:
Your Holy Bible, a LAWN CHAIR OR SOMETHING TO SIT ON or if you wish to, you may plan to stand. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The prayer gathering is in the park, over the short walking bridge near the gazebo areas. Non-alcoholic drinks and or snacks that you might want, parking meter money, on the day of the event, please don’t forget to double check the information on this webpage for any updates or changes. If it rains we will post the virtual link and phone number to access. We are working to possibly secure seating, but as of now, it is set as bring your own chair as you would if you were going to the fireworks or beach, etc. See add'l info. below.

For further clarity: National Day of Prayer Task Force is a Judeo-Christian (Holy Bible: Old Testament & New Testament) ministry and the prayer gathering is biblical and apolitical. Prayer service information: For context, the main focus of this event is scriptural prayer for the United State of America according to 2 Chronicles 7:14 https://biblehub.com/kjv/2_chronicles/7.htm. The King James, New King James or older NIV Holy Bible versions will be used at the microphone during the event. There will be a shofar sounding as a call to prayer, an opening prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, and other significant opening activities. In the opening there will also be a scriptural prayer for the Biblical Holy Land of Israel according to Genesis 12: 1-3 https://biblehub.com/kjv/genesis/12.htm.
The 7 main prayer topics: Government; Military; Business; Media; Church; Education & Families that are defined by the National Day of Prayer Task Force will be prayed along with 4 additional biblical topics: Homeless; Police /EMS; Wholeness; & Leadership / National & Biblical Unity. They will be led by assigned prayer topic leaders and then there will be a congregational opportunity to also pray out loud for those who are comfortable in doing so. https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/equipping/prayforamerica
Admission: Free, no admission fees. There will be no offering taken at this prayer gathering.
Language: English.
Note: At this time English will be the language for the service. We are open to the possibility of a volunteer Sign Language interpreter or Spanish language interpreter or prayer leader. Outdoor Location: Thursday 05/02/2024 in Huddy Park: 39 East Water Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. The prayer gathering is in the park, over the short walking bridge to the gazebo & lawn area. Parking: Parking meter fee may be applicable to parking areas. Use of the Iron Street Public Parking Garage is recommended. Please arrive early to allow time for parking and a short walk down the historic walking trail to Huddy Park, carefully crossing at the traffic light area. There is a small metered parking lot at Huddy Park, please help: RESERVE THIS FOR PERSONS WHO ARE NEEDING HANDICAPPED OR ACCOMMODATED PARKING. If need be, you may carefully drop off your passengers at the park and then take the car to parking garage. Please plan to arrive early.

It is not requested or expected, but, if you are lead by the Lord to, you are welcome to donate to the National Day of Prayer at the main website https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/donate/other_ways_to_give. There will be no offering taken at the prayer event. In-climate weather / rain location: Thursday 05/02/2024. Praying for a good weather week and no rain or other type of in climate weather! If it weather does not permit the outdoor park service, there will be an updated posting here with the live video conference link and phone number. Either Zoom or Free Conference Call will be used for the video service. The possibility of an indoor venue as a backup location is being prayerfully considered, but at this time the backup rain plan is as mentioned, a live prayer gathering video conference that you can watch and/or call in to.
Shofars: Shofars are welcome during the announced invitation for a group shofar soundings. There will be several opportunities.
Other: Other types of musical instruments, biblical dance and biblical flags will be considered but are needing to be discussed well ahead of time with the event planning staff and either approved or not approved based on the schedule of events and time frame that is allotted. Please send these inquiries well ahead of time, by sending an email with your information and what you are asking to be pre-approved or incorporated in the prayer service schedule and the NDP staff members will review it pray about it and be sure to get back to you. Interested in helping?: Christian Volunteers & Prayer Service Participants needed! For anyone interested in helping or have something that they would like to offer in planning, preparing & holding this event, please feel free to contact us well ahead of time. Everyone who is not already Commissioned by the National Day of Prayer Task Force will be asked to prayerfully review and complete a volunteer sign up form that includes their name, their contact information, 1 pastoral reference letter (it can be an email to us from a pastor), the NDP statement of faith & protocol. If you are a currently ordained, in good standing pastor, a pastoral reference will not be needed.
Churches / Ministries / Groups: If you are planning to attend as a group from your church or ministry, please consider sending an email to us, we are prayerfully hoping to have an overall estimated number of people that are planning to be in attendance. Please consider helping by announcing this event regularly and listing it in your events calendars, service handouts and announcements.

The volunteer leadership Team of this 05/02/2024 event: NDP Task Force Commissioned staff & many others who are non-commissioned, but are approved as volunteers. This includes many pastors, ministry leaders, elders and laypersons that are a part of the volunteer planning team & prayer leading teams. The lead overseer of this NDP Task Force event is Reverend Tracie Plungis, Ordm. Commissioned Prayer Call Leader, Commissioned NJ State Prayer Shield & Commissioned Event Coordinator.
