Cleveland County citizens of all faiths are invited to participate in Cleveland County National Day of Prayer, on Thursday, May 2nd beginning at 12 pm. Faith leaders, local and state government leaders, and leaders in business and education will join in prayer for our community, state, and nation. “It’s easy to believe the world is getting darker, but as long as God’s people pray and practice His Word, light will triumph over darkness,” said Cleveland County Commissioner Jacob McHughes, organizer of the event. “Join with us and the millions of believers across the nation, as we cling to the truth found in 2 Samuel 22:29-31,’ For You are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness.’”
The prayer gathering will be held in front of the east side of the Cleveland County courthouse, 200 S Peters, Norman. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the County Commissioners’ Meeting Room. Paul Abner, President of Oklahoma Faith Leaders, Judge Thad Balkman, Sheriff Chris Amason, and others will pray during the noon hour event.
